The Francis Lee family historical accounts (1925, 1960) consist of one by Lucile Butler Roberts and the other by Elizabeth Lee Butler. The first is about the settlement of Panaca and Pioche, Nevada. The second about the Francis Lee family settlement in Meadow Wash Valley. The accounts discuss location details, Indian relations, irrigation difficulties, and Nevada taxes.

Biographical Sketch

The Francis Lee family were the first settlers in Meadow Wash Valley. It was originally part of Utah Territory but after a border survey, was determined to be within Nevada state lines. The settlers were required to pay Nevada four years of back-taxes.
