Scope and Contents
The Stanley Jones papers consist of materials concerning the 1979 commemorative trek by Stan Jones and Harvey C. Leake to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Wetherill-Cummings-Douglass expedition which "discovered" Rainbow Bridge. Included are biographies of Jones and Leake, historical background material, and an itinerary of the trek.

Biographical Sketch
Stan Jones and Harvey Clayton Leake (great-grandson of John Wetherill) hiked to Rainbow Bridge from Paiute Mesa from 6-14 August 1979, just as Wetherill and his companions had done in 1909.
