The Standley Hunter Rich family papers (1836-1971) consist of material representing the Hunter, Rich, and Standley families of Idaho, the Hunter family papers being the most complete. Included are genealogical records, the personal papers of Edward Hunter, biographies, autograph books, Rich family correspondence, scrapbooks, clippings, and other materials.

Biographical Sketch
Standley Hunter Rich was born on 26 December 1883 in Paris, Idaho, to Joseph C. and Ann Eliza Hunter Rich. His mother was the daughter of Edward Hunter and Ann Standley and his grandparents on his father's side were Charles C. Rich and Sarah Jane Peck. On 14 January 1914 he married Kathryn Whittle. He founded the Rich Theater in 1922 and the Rich Motor Company in Montpieler, Idaho. Standley Hunter Rich died on 5 October 1975.
