Biographical Sketch
William C. Staines was born in England on 26 September 1819. He converted to the LDS Church and emigrated to the United States in the 1840s. He was a gardener by avocation and profession. He was also a partner in the mercantile firm of Staines and Needham and, in 1863, became the emigration agent for the LDS Church. William C. Staines died on 3 August 1881.
