Scope and Contents

The collection consists of an original and edited transcripts of two interviews by Henry J.Wolfinger with Harley Murray regarding his association with former U.S. Senator Frank J. Cannon in Colorado in the 1930s. Murray recalls their attempts to start a newspaper to promote bimetallism and discusses Cannon's politics and personality. The interview was conducted in Washington, D.C.

Biographical Note

Harley Murray was a Colorado newspaper reporter and an associate of Frank J. Cannon in Colorado. Cannon was an attorney, newspaper publisher, and mining entrepreneur who served as U.S. Senator from Utah from 1896 to 1899. He later moved to Denver where he served as president of the Bimetallic Association.
