Scope and Contents

The Tom Korologos papers (1955-2003) contain correspondence, calendars, itineraries, agenda, memos, reports, conference materials, news clippings, photographs, and miscellaneous political and business documents pertaining to Timmons and Co., a group interested in primarily conservative causes and candidates. Addenda to the collection contain correspondence, news articles, publications, notes, speeches, and other materials concerning the presidency of George Bush, Elizabeth Dole's presidential candidacy, and United States politics and international relations.

Biographical Sketch

Tom Korologos is a Utah native who went to Washington, D.C., to work in Senator Wallace Bennett's office. He is also a former staffer of the Salt Lake Tribune. He then joined a PR/Lobby business called Timmons and Co., a group interested in primarily conservative causes and candidates. Korologos was Bob Dole's liaison at the 1996 Republican National Convention. He shepherded Supreme Court nominees through the Senate for both Reagan and Bush administrations. He was also on the staff of both the Nixon and Ford administrations.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Cartons/boxes 1-26 were donated in December 1995 (49.75 linear feet). Cartons 27-29 were donated in July 2001 (6 linear feet). Cartons 30-34 were donated in April 2002 (12.5 linear feet). Cartons 35-39 were donated in June 2003 (8.25 linear feet).

Separated Materials

Photographs and audio-visual materials were transferred to the Multimedia Division of Special Collections (P0861 and A0634).
