Biographical / Historical

"Haight's Creek--The first pioneer family to settle anywhere in this area was Hector Haight, who came from Salt Lake and settled near a stream in the southwest part of what is now Kaysville. This stream of water comes out of a mountain canyon some distance east of where Hector Haight settled, hence became known as 'Haight's Creek.' As this area became settled by other families, this stream of water became the source from which farms received irrigation water. It was soon organized and incorporated as 'Haight's Creek Irrigation Company.'"
