The Sally Smith letter (1820) was written by Sally Smith to her sister Eliza Barrett. The letter is dated 12 August 1820. The letter describes the recent birth of a son, the crop situation, and an upsurge of attendence at the village church. Of note is a phrase, reminiscent of Shakespeare, that is similiar to a passage in 2 Nephi in the Book of Mormon.
