Scope and Contents

The Richard Bradley papers (1954-1966) contain correspondence, statements to federal agencies, papers, publications, pamphlets, and news clippings. He published articles and spoke at congressional hearings. Transcriptions of Bradley's speeches are included in this collection along with Bradley's published articles and speeches, unpublished articles, and correspondence between Bradley and government agencies regarding the proposed dams and Bradley's opposition to them.

Biographical Note

Bradley (b.1922) was a physics professor at Colorado College (1961-1987), a conservationist, and he fought the construction of hydroelectric dams in the Grand Canyon and the diversion of water from the Colorado River. He published articles and spoke at congressional hearings.
