The Lorenzo Hoopes papers (1935-1976) contain advertisements, articles, journals, reports, and stories collected by Hoopes, a former employee and executive of Safeway stores. These documents pertain to the history and productivity of the Safeway and Skaggs stores throughout Utah and the Western United States. The news articles in the collection are highly detailed in conveying important information about the origin, marketing strategies, and future aspirations of the Safeway stores, "leading grocers of the west."
