The Harold Orlob papers contain correspondence, contracts, and printed material relating to his career as a song writer. It also contains original music manuscripts from several of his hit Broadway musicals.

Biographical Sketch

Harold Orlob (1883-1982) was born in Logan Utah, and went on to become a well-received music writer for early Broadway shows in New York. He always maintained close ties with Utah, and still has family here.

Abstract

The Harold Orlob papers (1891-1986) contain correspondence, court documents, programs, genealogy, printed material, and sheet music composed by Orlob and others. Orlob was a well-received music writer for early Broadway shows in New York.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Donated by Joyce Orlob Evans in 2007 and 2009.

Donated by Joyce Orlob Evans (box 4, folder 11) in 2010.

Photographs were transferred to the Multimedia Division of Special Collections.
