Biographical Sketch

Christian Anselmes Orlob was born June 30 1860, in Odense, Fyn, Denmark. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and, at the age of 20, emigrated to Salt Lake City to work with Andrew Jenson in establishing a Danish newspaper, the Utah Posten. Several months later, in October 1880, he was made secretary of the United Order of Manufacturing and Building company of Logan, Utah. He was employed by the Z.C.M.I. as an invoice clerk in 1885. He was secretary from 1919-1928. He was also a director of Zion's Benefit Building society. He married Metha Jorgine Jensen in 1880 and had three children; Harold Orlob, Rudolph Orlob, and Richard Orlob. He died in Salt Lake City on November 12, 1933.

The Christian Anselmes Orlob papers (1864-1935, 1982) contain certificates, a letter, an invitation, a songbook, and news clippings. Orlob was born in Denmark and emigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1880. He was employed by the Z.C.M.I. and was involved with community organizations.
