These photographs were copied from the originals in the possession of Christensen's daughter Kathleen Hall, of Salt Lake City, courtesy Dr. Fred Buchanan of the Education Department. Folder one contains family photographs which include Christensen's father, wife, and children. Folder two contains photographs relating to his life as an educator and administrator. Biographical / Historical

Chronology of David H. Christensen
  1. 1869 Born in Payson, Utah, where he attended Presbyterian Mission School for five years
  2. 1890 Graduated from the normal course at the University of Deseret. He later earned a B.A. Degree at the University of Utah.
  3. 1890-1897 Became principal of Payson schools
  4. 1893-1897 Appointed Superintendent of Utah County schools to fill an unexpired term. He was subsequently elected to two successive terms.
  5. 1894 Married Katherine Dean, a teacher and principal, in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple
  6. 1896 Appointed to the first State Board of Education by Governor Wells
  7. 1898-1899 Assigned President of the L.D.S. Berlin Conference Mission in Berlin, Germany
  8. 1899 Transferred to the Frankfurt Conference
  9. 1900 Studied for three quarters at the University of Goettingen, Germany
  10. 1901 Returned to the United States
  11. 1901-1916 Superintendent of Salt Lake City Schools
  12. 1910-1939 Salt Lake City Library Board
  13. 1911 Silver Service Committee, Battleship Utah
  14. 1917-1951 Member, University of Utah Board of Regents.
  15. 1913 Founded the Christensen Construction Co.
  16. 1934 Katherine Dean Christensen died
  17. 1939 Member, Interstate Water Commission
  18. 1948 Honorary Doctorate in Education from the University of Utah
  19. 1956 Died in Salt Lake City
