Scope and Contents

This collection includes photographs of Daniel H. Thomas and his family. His parents were Preston Thomas, born February 15, 1814, and Maria Hadlond Thomas, born in the year 1839. Preston Thomas had three wives - Sarah Ann Jane Morehead Thomas who had 9 children, Maria Foscue who had 3 children, and Maria Hadlond Thomas who had 8 children. Preston Thomas lived in Navoo, Illinois for a time and was a close friend of Brigham Young. Preston served five missions for the Mormon church, moved his family to Franklin, Utah, and helped to settle the Bear Lake Valley in 1863. In 1872 he moved back to Franklin and died July 10, 1877.
