The Walt Scott photograph collection consists of 1 box containing 121 postcards from Japan, Mexico, the United States, Canada, and containing depictions of the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and dating from 1957 to 1962.

Biographical Note
Walter Jones Scott (1913-1961) was born on May 23, 1913 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alvin E. and Miriam Jones Scott. He attended Granite High School. Scott worked as a diesel mechanic for Interstate Motor Lines. He married Fern A. Ohlin in Salt Lake City on July 17, 1935; together the couple had one daughter. Scott was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was active in youth leadership in the Winder Third Ward. An avid outdoorsman, Scott was a member of SOCOTWA, an acronym for South Cottonwood Ward in Murray, Utah, a non-profit organization specializing in river rafting that formed in 1948. Walt Scott died on September 17, 1961 in a flash flood while leading a group of youth through the Zion National Park Narrows for SOCOTWA; the flood also killed four teenaged members of his group.
