Biographical Note
Marcus was born in Brooklyn, New York, January 9, 1880. He came to Salt Lake City in 1907. He established a movie theater chain in Utah and in other mountain states. He was director of two Salt Lake City banks. He was a Republican. Marcus was the only Jewish mayor of Salt Lake City, serving 19329-36. Marcus died in 1936.
