Harold Judd Goodro photograph collection
Collection
Identifier: P0902
Scope and Contents
This collection contains a few regular printed photographs, and several boxes of color transparencies (slides). Harold Goodro took most of these slides during his long career as an outoorsman. As a member of the Wasatch Mountain Club, he led several club hikes in the 1960s. The Iowa Mountaineers hired Goodro as a climbing guide on numerous outings in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. And from 19xx to 1990, Goodro was Director of the University of Utah’s Outdoor Adventures Program and led groups of students on various overnight hikes.
The slide sets are in various degrees of order and are grouped in plastic sheaths whose marked headings were copied from their original containers and do not always reflect their contents. The printed information on the frames of the slides allow one to sort the images into groups, and many sets are out of order, with some individual slides stored among unrelated sets. The digitized version of the collection has the identifiable sets numbered so as to be in close-to-original order, but some sets (such as those covering various outings in the Andes of Peru) are quite mixed, so we cannot vouch for their being in perfect order.
