Biographical Sketch

When Monte Meier lost his right leg in a garden-tilling accident at age 8 he was not a skier. The next winter he started skiing and after graduating from high school he joined the racing program at Afton Alps. In the 1992 Canadian nationals Monte Meier won 3 medals and in 1993 was named ti the Ski Team.

Career highlights include:
  1. Runner up in the 2005 World Cup SL points
  2. 2004 World Championships SL bronze
  3. 2002 World Cup SL champ (2 wins)
  4. 2002 Paralympics SL silver medal
  5. 1998 Paralympics SL gold medal, GS silver medal
