Historical Note

The Salt Lake and Utah Railroad, also known as the Orem Line or Orem Interurban, was a railroad line that operated between downtown Salt Lake City and Payson, Utah. The franchise for the line was obtained in 1912 and construction began in 1913. It opened on July 24, 1914 with stops in Utah and Salt Lake counties, adding freight service on August 15, 1914; it was completed to Payson in 1916. The railroad also operated a branch line to Magna, Utah. The Salt Lake and Utah Railroad ended service in 1946.
