Biographical / Historical
Dorothy Maxine Baird Shirts (1923-2019) was born on July 25th in Salt Lake City, Utah. She received her bachelor's degree in science from Brigham Young University (BYU). She taught business classes at BYU and worked as a typist for various employers. She accompanied her husband, Morris Alpine Shirts, to Iran in 1957 while he advised the National Teachers' College. They returned to Utah in 1959.
