The Joseph Ray and Lorna Siddoway Broadbent photograph collection consists of 2 archival boxes and 1 oversize box containing photograph prints, slides, proofs and negatives of Broadbent family portraits, friends, family, missions, their sheep business and travel dating from approximately 1900 to 2006.

Biographical / Historical

Joseph Ray "Jay" Broadbent (born 2 September 1909 in Heber City, Utah) and Lorna Siddoway Broadbent (born 11 April 1913 in Vernal, Utah) were married on 11 September 1936 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. Both were graduates of the University of Utah and active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They had three children: Joseph, Ray, and Colleen. Joseph Broadbent was in the livestock business, producing both sheep and cattle, and was involved in various livestock associations including the National Wool Growers Association, the Utah Wool Marketing Association, the Utah Wool Growers Association, Imperial Valley Lamb Feeders, Utah Livestock Production Credit Association, and the American Sheep Producers Council of Denver. Lorna was active in the Parent Teacher's Association. Joseph Siddoway died in 1996; Lorna Siddoway died in 2006.

Abstract

Joseph Ray "Jay" Broadbent (born 2 September 1909 in Heber City, Utah) and Lorna Siddoway Broadbent (born 11 April 1913 in Vernal, Utah) were Univerity of Utah alumni who worked in livestock. This collection contains prints, slides, and negatives depicting the Broadbent family and friends, as well as their livestock business, from approximatley 1900 to 2006.
