Scope and Contents
The Lysle W. Hansen photograph album collection consists of 1 oversize box containing 1 album. The album has black paper and tied faux leather covers, sized approximately 10x14. Some, but not all, of the photographs have captions written on the images identifying people and places. The images primarily document Hansen's military service. Subjects include: soldiers posed in groups and participating in leisure activities; camp; barracks; military vehicles; soldiers interacting with women; and the victory parade in Paris in September 1944. Locations include: Pomona, California; camps Momouth and Waterloo in Iceland; Belfast and Wilmont House, Northern Ireland; Paris and Renne, France. Units of the army depicted include the Company A, 810th Signal Service battalion and the 315th signal battallion. In addition to photographs, the album contains visual ephemera collected by the compiler, including: propoganda images of Hitler and postcards of locations in Ireland and France. Included in the box are photocopies of paper ephemera (passes, correspondence, clippings) from the mansucript portion of the collection.

Biographical / Historical
Lysle William Hansen was born in Brigham City, Utah on 1920 October 23. He joined the army in 1941 and served in the European theatre as a Private. He died on 1984 February 25.
