Scope and Contents

The photographs in this collection were sent to A. O. Garrett: the first photograph was sent with a 1933 letter and the second was sent with a 1940 letter. The photographs were separated from the correspondence in the Manuscripts collection for preservation purposes.

Biographical / Historical

A. O. Garrett (1870-1948) was a botany professor who taught for East High School and Brigham Young University (BYU). He was consulted by various professors and botanists around the nation for his authority in Western American flora. Besides teaching, Garett also did work in regards to plant identification and classification both privately and through various agencies.

Donated anonymously in 2009.

Material was transferred by the University Archives from the Utah Museum of Natural History in 2012.
