The John Hudson papers (1848-1852, 1980) consist of documents detailing the life and work of John Hudson (1826-1850), an English emigrant who started for the gold fields of California but was forced by illness to remain in Salt Lake City, where he served as a member of the Stansbury Expedition to the Great Salt Lake and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
