Scope and Contents
Mr. Johnson (b. 1919) speaks of living and working in coal mining towns in Carbon County, Utah during the Depression. He was drafted into the army, attended radio, telegraph school, and radar schools, and was detailed to the Pacific. He describes communications activities during combat and interaction with native people. He was discharged in November 1945 and returned to Utah where he worked for the railroad until retirement.
