Scope and Contents Herbert Clark (b. 1923) enlisted in the Marine Corps in the Spring of 1942. He went to San Diego for his basic training and was assigned to H Company, 2nd Battalion of the 9th Regiment. H Company was trained in heavy weapons--machine guns and mortars.
