Scope and Contents Workman was born in Vernal, Utah, and attended Carbon Junior College (now College of Eastern Utah) before being drafted into the army in December 1942. He was sent to Fort Custer, Michigan, for basic training and received additional training at various locations before being shipped to England in January 1944.
