Scope and Contents Baessler (b. 1925) emigrated to the United States from Germany in 1931. He attended school in Salt Lake City, Utah, and joined the Seabees in June 1943. After basic training in Virginia, he was assigned to Pleasanton, California, prior to being shipped overseas.
