Abstract The Francis Asbury Hammond diaries [transcripts] (1852-1865) refelct his experiences during his years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Hawaiian Islands. The diaries touch on the day-to-day experiences of a missionary of the time. Hammond went on to be president of the San Juan Stake of the LDS Church from 1884 to 1900.
