The Owl Creek mining claim collection contains hand-copied duplicates of letters between J. H. White, who owned Todd's Valley Saw Mill and a half a stake in the Owl Creek Claim, and career miner Felix Chapellet. Chapellet owned the other half of the Owl Creek claim and also owned Live Oak Mining Company, The May Flower Company and the Hawk Eye and the Wolverine Tunnels.
