The Marvin Alton Melville papers (1950-2001) contain scrapbooks, newspaper and magazine articles, correspondence, meeting minutes, and other documents concerning the United States Ski Association (USSA), particularly the Alpine Competition Committee, of which Melville was the chairman, and its dealings with different ski associations such as the International Ski Federation (FIS). The collection also contains material on the 1956, 1960, and 1964 Olympics.

Abstract
The Marvin Alton Melville photograph collection consists of images of Marvin Melville skiing in competitions and training. Most of the inventory descriptions were taken from the labels on the back of the images. The photographs in box three were scanned from three of Marvin Melville's scrapbooks held in Manuscript's reserve collection. Many of the images in box three are duplicates of those found in boxes one and two.
