Gates papers (1947-1996) consists primarily of correspondence documenting the long relationship between the University of Utah and Gates, a major donor to the libraries of the University of Utah and the University of Utah Medical Center. The records include governing documents (such as by-laws), administrative correspondence, membership information, staff surveys, event planning and announcements, financial records, newsletters and literary magazines, meeting minutes, and miscellaneous items.
