The collection consists of typewritten copies of field notes of archeological expeditions (1922-1930) through southwestern Utah and northwestern Arizona, under the auspices of the American Museum of Natural History. Includes typescript copies of correspondence addressed to "Dearest Clarchen" containing field notes from the 1919, 1920, and 1921 expeditions.

The Reconnaissance of Kaiparowits microfilm reel contains two reports of archaeological expeditions: "Reconnaissance of Southern Utah on the Kaiparowits Plateau and in the Southwestern drainage of the Escalante River, May 18-28, 1928" and "Reconnaissance in Southern Utah west of the Colorado River, April 17-May 17, 1928."
