The Frederick Stewart Buchanan papers (1880-2010) consist of materials relating to his professional research and teaching activities. Included are books, news clippings, articles, notes, oral history transcriptions, personal and professional correspondence, and research documents on Mormon history, Scottish immigrants, and the history of education in Utah. Buchanan is professor emeritus of educational studies at the University of Utah.

The Gustive O. Larson articles consist of: "Mormon Immigration," "Federal Government Efforts to Americanize Utah before Admission to Statehood," and "The Early Beginnings of the Sugar Industry in Utah Territory, 1852-1891."

The William Rowley papers (1798-1843) include an autobiography by Rowley (1798-1870), a boarding ticket for passage on the Metoka, two letters, and copies of news articles.

The Joseph Smith Scofield diary [photocopy and typescript] (1846-1847) consist of a brief description of his journey to the Salt Lake Valley with the first company of Mormon pioneers. A nine-page typed copy is included with a photocopy of the original diary.
