Abstract The R. Kent Fielding papers (1840-1998) consist of Fielding's writings and the research materials he gathered for them. The collection reflects his interest in the history of the LDS Church, the Mountain Meadows Massacre, and his transition from being a member of the LDS Church to being a secular humanist.

Abstract The John L. Ginn papers consist of a bound carbon-copy titled "Mormon and Indian Wars." John L. Ginn was a member of a wagon road expedition that traveled west from Independence, Missouri, as well as a captain in the United States Army. Some of the key events in the book, from 1857 to 1861, include the investigation of the Mountain Meadows Massacre; encounters with Brigham Young, Porter Rockwell and John D. Lee; and the Utah War.
