The Edward Abbey papers (1954-1980) contain manuscripts, correspondence, and printed material. Abbey was a teacher, a writer, an advocate of environmentalism, and a vocal critic of public land policies.

The Aḥmad Zakī Abū Shādī papers (1892-1955) contain various documents regarding his life as an Egyptian poet, author, playwright, and publisher of literary serials.

The Virgil C. Aldrich papers (1928-1999) contain correspondence, journals, notebooks, writings, essays, and articles. Alrich was educated at Oxford College, the Sorbonne, and the University of California at Berkeley. He taught philosophy at several universities before retiring to Salt Lake City in 1973 where he was an adjunct professor of philosophy at the University of Utah.

The Alice Morrey Bailey photographs contain materials related to the life of this Utah author. Her book of poems titled Rain Shadows (1995) was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. She was also active in the League of Utah Writers, the Association for Mormon Letters, and the National League of American Pen Women.

The Phyllis Barber papers (1964-2008) contain correspondence, personal and biographical material, news clippings, research files, manuscript drafts, student files, published manuscripts, and miscellaneous material pertaining to the career of this author.

The Marvin J. Bertoch papers (1960-1995) contain diaries, correspondence, news clippings, articles, newsletters, biographical material, and manuscripts of short stories, plays, and novels written by this Salt Lake City attorney.

The William A. Britney book of poetry (1980) is entitled, Face to Face, which is a book of poems on LDS Church leaders and historical figures.

The Dorothy Jacobs Buchanan papers (1899-1997) contain correspondence, scrapbooks, biographical information, and news clippings related to the life and family of this Utah poet.

The Olive Woolley Burt papers (1936-1980) consist of manuscripts, research material, photographs, illustrations and correspondence of several of the books written for children by Burt during the years 1928-1980. The manuscript for her "American Murder Ballads and Their Stories," is included. Also among the papers are scrapbooks and other materials depicting her professional interests as a writer. Olive Burt was an author, newspaper feature writer, and teacher.

The Betsy Burton papers consist of personal and professional materials. The majority of the papers deal with Burton's involvement with The King's English Bookstore which she co-founded in 1977 with Ann Berman.

The Lucille Iredale Carleson papers (1935-1953) contain travel journals, news clippings, a scrapbook, and published and unpublished poetry by Carleson and other poets. Lucille Carleson was a resident of Salt Lake City. She was a poet and was active in the American League of Pen Women.

The Everett L. Cooley papers (1775-2006) consist of autobiographical information, articles, book reviews, papers, correspondence, manuscripts, documents, oral history materials, speeches, meeting minutes, recommendations, memos, newsletters, bulletins, programs, and newspaper clippings. Cooley is professor emeritus of history at the University of Utah and the retired director of special collections in the University of Utah Marriott Library.

The Coptic encyclopedia photograph collection contains research on the customs, environment, music, hobbies, political and religous leaders, and language of the Coptic community. The Coptic community was formed by the Christian inhabitants of Egypt during the third century A.D.
