Abstract
The Auerbach family was among the first Jewish residents in Salt Lake City and operated a department store in downtown Salt Lake City from 1864 to 1977. Herbert S. Auerbach (1882-1945) served as president of the Auerbach Company from the 1920s until his death in 1945. This collection contains cabinet cards and cartes de visite portraits of Herbert Auerbach and other members of the Auerbach family.

Abstract
Herbert Samuel Auerbach (1882-1945) worked for his family's business and department store, the Auerbach Company, from 1911 until 1945. He also served two terms in the Utah State Senate in the 1920s, served on many clubs and boards, contributed to music and arts in Utah, and produced essays and translations about the history of Utah and the American West. This collection contains black-and-white prints depicting the Auerbach stores and portraits and travel photographs of the Auerbach family...
