The collection consists of material generated by the Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs and the Committee on Public Works and Transportation. The William Treseder papers (1936-1963) are a collection of professional papers from his career in law enforcement and his activities in the Democratic Party. Treseder was a Justice of the Peace in Magna, Utah from 1928 to 1932, served as a deputy U.S. Marshal in 1933, and from 1950 to 1952 was a Utah U.S. Marshal. His personal interests included active membership in the Democratic Party in Utah, where he also served in several capacities.
