The Reed Smoot papers (1909-1986) consist of copies of Smoot's journal as well as articles concerning his life and politics. Reed Smoot (1862-1941) was an Apostle for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a United States Senator from Utah. He filled both positions simulatneously. Boxes 1-8 cannot be photocopied.

The Elbert Duncan Thomas speeches (1935-1950) consist of five speeches given by Senator Thomas. Three concern his political philosophy, one is a Senate speech on the Civilian Conservation Corps, and the fifth was given at the unveiling of the Brigham Young statue created by Mahonri Young. Thomas was a Democratic senator from Utah.

The William Treseder papers (1936-1963) are a collection of professional papers from his career in law enforcement and his activities in the Democratic Party. Treseder was a Justice of the Peace in Magna, Utah from 1928 to 1932, served as a deputy U.S. Marshal in 1933, and from 1950 to 1952 was a Utah U.S. Marshal. His personal interests included active membership in the Democratic Party in Utah, where he also served in several capacities.

The Utah Commission on the Organization of the Executive Branch of the Government records (1953-1977) contain correspondence, commission reports, senate and house materials, legislative directories, financial documents, and other materials concerning the Commission and its operations.

The Utah elections collection (1954-1956) contain political literature, correspondence, newsletters, and lists pertaining to national and Utah political campaigns.

The Utah Federation of Women's Republican Clubs records (1929-1971) consist of minute books, newsletters, convention resolutions, scrapbooks, and financial and membership papers.

The Utah Legislative Conference records (1965-1967) contain position papers, officer lists, agendas, correspondence, budgets, and meeting minutes of the organization. The Utah Legislative Conference was a lobbying organization representing business and industrial interests. It was the Utah representative of the national organization of the State Chambers of Commerce.

The Utah State Democratic Committee photograph collection contains photographs of various politicians and performers associated with the committee, including some photographs of fund raising telethons.

The Utah State Republican Central Committee records (1930, 1956-1997) consist of national, state, and county political materials. Included are correspondence, articles, news releases, campaign materials, financial papers, scrapbooks, and voting materials.

The Utah voting records (1895-1964) consist of pages from two looseleaf notebooks of unknown origin with hand-drawn charts of Utah's voting records by county from 1895 to 1964. Included are tabulations of votes by political party as well as percentages and total votes for each county.

The LaVarr G. Webb papers (1788-1986) contain pamphlets, articles, speeches, correspondence, political platforms, and other documents relavent to Utah and National politics. LaVarr G. Webb spent many years as a journalist and political activist.

The Milton Holmes Welling papers (1910-1920) consist of diaries and correspondence on the life and works of Milton Welling, the Utah Representative who lived in Box Elder County.

The Jean Westwood photograph collection contains portraits of Jean Westwood and of members of her family. The collection also contains photographs of Jean Westwood involved in political activities and campaigns, particularly the 1972 presidential campaign as well as portraits of various politicians and political candidates.

The Ted Wilson papers (1976-1988) document the tenure of this Salt Lake City mayor (1976-1985) and his campaign for the U. S. Senate against Orrin Hatch in 1982. His mayoralty papers are concerned with administrative activities, boards and committees, the city council, correspondence, city departments, personnel, politics, speeches, and other topics.
