Reed Smoot papers
The Reed Smoot papers (1909-1986) consist of copies of Smoot's journal as well as articles concerning his life and politics. Reed Smoot (1862-1941) was an Apostle for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a United States Senator from Utah. He filled both positions simulatneously. Boxes 1-8 cannot be photocopied.
Elbert Duncan Thomas speeches
The Elbert Duncan Thomas speeches (1935-1950) consist of five speeches given by Senator Thomas. Three concern his political philosophy, one is a Senate speech on the Civilian Conservation Corps, and the fifth was given at the unveiling of the Brigham Young statue created by Mahonri Young. Thomas was a Democratic senator from Utah.
William Treseder papers
The William Treseder papers (1936-1963) are a collection of professional papers from his career in law enforcement and his activities in the Democratic Party. Treseder was a Justice of the Peace in Magna, Utah from 1928 to 1932, served as a deputy U.S. Marshal in 1933, and from 1950 to 1952 was a Utah U.S. Marshal. His personal interests included active membership in the Democratic Party in Utah, where he also served in several capacities.
