The Little Cottonwood Canyon history collection (1870-1965) consist of a microfilmed copy of a collection of clippings, notes, and transcriptions on the history of Little Cottonwood Canyon, kept by Lawrence P. James. The materials are weighted heavily toward mining in the nineteenth century, but contain information on the development of the ski industry in the twentieth.

The Joseph L. Lyon papers (1966-2007) consists of the writings and research of Lyon, an epidemiologist at the University of Utah. His primary area of research was the development of cancer in populations affected by nuclear weapon fallout in areas surrounding the Nevada Test Site.

The Dennis L. Lythgoe papers (1977-2008) consist of correspondence, column manuscripts, personal materials, and newspaper clippings of the columnist and professor of history.

The Thomas C. Mabey papers (1964-2016) detail his involvement with international and national car racing and car show events. The collection includes materials regarding the activities of Rocky Mountain Motorsports along with general racing ephemera and memorabilia. Mabey is a long-time racer and is also a vintage car collector.

The Betty M. Madsen papers (1938-1997) contains journals, professional correspondence, unpublished manuscripts on linguistics and 19th-century women, and news clippings on women's issues in the 1970s and 1980s. Betty M. Madsen was a graduate of the University of Utah with degrees in French and linguistics. She was the co-author of several publications with her husband, Brigham D. Madsen and served as thesis editor at the University of Utah in the 1970s.

The Madsen Furniture Company records (1870-1999) contain correspondence, brochures, pamphlets, news clippings, magazine articles, architectural drawings, financial ledgers, and notes concerning the Madsen Furniture Company. This company was established in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1870.

The H. Franklin and Florence Jepperson Madsen papers (1904-1977) consist of family history and biographical materials, musical performance programs, BYU music department booklets, sheet music, and news clippings pertaining to the lives and careers of Drs. Madsen.

The Steven K. Madsen collection on Blacks in Utah (1879-1980) contains photocopied materials about early African Americans in Utah, especially about Green Flake and the community of Union. Included are clippings and book excerpts related to Green Flake, property records for Union, records of Union Fort Cemetery, and reminiscences by relatives of Green Flake. Also included are clippings and other materials on Black people in the LDS Church (1965-1979).

The Theodore Frederick Major ski clippings collection (1937-1984) contain articles from the Salt Lake Tribune, the Pinedale Roundup and Utah's Wasatch Sports Guide concerning skiing and the life of Ted Major.

The Beatrice Peterson Marchant papers (1879-2000) contain Marchant's research on the John Birch Society and the Equal Rights Amendment. Included is a paper written by Marchant entitled "The John Birch Society and the Mormon Church." Also included are eleven scrapbooks of correspondence, newspaper articles and pamphlets collected by Mrs. Marchant from 1969 to 1996.

The Ralph Elliott Margetts papers (1926-1980s) consist mainly of theater programs for plays which were acted in or directed by Margetts. Ralph Margetts (b. 1909) was a professor of drama at the University of Utah and an actor and director in Salt Lake City.

The William and Carrie Bales Martindale papers (1950-1978) include correspondence, World War II materials, and newspapers highlighting significant events in American history from the end of World War II to the resignation of President Nixon.

The bulk of the Norma W. Matheson papers (1906-2010) contain material documenting Matheson's public life during her tenure as first lady of Utah from 1977 to 1985. The collection also features correspondence, schedules and agendas, plans and financial information for the governor's mansion, and early keepsakes.

The Herbert B. Maw biographical collection (1981-1982) consist of biographical information on this former Utah governor. This information, along with an interview with Maw, was used as a source for Dean L. May's Utah: A People's History.

The Daniel McCool papers (1888-2008) contain correspondence, research files, published and unpublished articles, news clippings, legal documents, government publications, pamphlets, brochures, and interview transcripts. Daniel McCool has taught at the University of Arizona, Texas A&M University, and the University of Utah. Formerly the Director of the American West Center at the University of Utah, McCool is currently the Director of Environmental Studies.

The Zella Skidmore McEntire papers (1923-1996) reflect her activities in church, in school, with her family, and her interest in politics. Zella (1912-2000) was a teacher in both the primary and secondary school systems. She married Eldon McEntire in 1935, and besides raising their children and teaching, was very involved with many clubs, groups, and organizations.

The Sheridan L. McGarry papers (1864-1950) contains an article, correspondence, notes, and news clippings relating to the study of LDS currency. McGarry researched and wrote a lengthy article on the subject, which was published in The Numismatist.

The Byron McGrath papers (1926-1993) consist of materials regarding the personal and professional lives of both Byron McGrath and Grace Coppin McGrath as actors, teachers, and philanthropists.
