The Leo Tolstoy and Barbara Samuels papers (1841-2010) consist of materials relating to the biochemisty careers and personal papers of Leo T. Samuels (1899-1978) and Barbara Petri Samuels (1901-2010). Included are correspondence, family history, speech and article reprints, an oral history interview transcript, memorabilia, and news clippings.

Also included is correspondence of his parents, other relatives, and associates. Finally, the collection includes an assortment of printed materials such as newspaper clippings, booklets, and assorted souvenir items. The collection consists entirely of photocopies.
Reed Smoot papers
The Reed Smoot papers (1909-1986) consist of copies of Smoot's journal as well as articles concerning his life and politics. Reed Smoot (1862-1941) was an Apostle for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a United States Senator from Utah. He filled both positions simulatneously. Boxes 1-8 cannot be photocopied.

The collection is divided into three sections: personal, family, and religious materials.

The Ralph D. and Ruth Thomson papers (1956-1972) center around the Golden Spike Railroad Centennial Celebration in 1969. The collection includes correspondence, invitations, name tags, pamphlets, and publications regarding the celebration, as well as the Thomson's personal correspondence.
