Godbe was a prominent Utah businessman. He was a member of a group of intellectual LDS dissenters that became known as the Godbeites and was excommunicated by the LDS Church in 1869.

The Gaylon W. Hansen papers (1919-1980s) consist of mining records for various Utah mining areas and plant productions, with a large portion concentrating on the Midvale Plant.

The Happy Jack Mine photograph collection (1960-1969) concentrate mainly on the business and mining interests of Cecil and Cleone Hansen. Included in the collection are photos related to mining and development, and family photos including seasonal greeting cards.
