The archives document the evolution of the sport and industry, including the history of ski competition on local, national, and international levels. In addition to scholarly research of skiing as a sport, these materials are valuable resources for research into skiing-related industries such as public relations, transportation, resorts and their amenities, equipment, and clothing.
Established in 1989, this self-funded program was created to preserve a comprehensive history of skiing in Utah and the Intermountain region.

Abstract
The Melvin Henry Fletcher scrapbook (1918-1963) is a color copy of Fletcher's lifetime scrapbook, which consists of certificates, awards, news clippings, and a column written by Mel while living in San Diego. Fletcher was born in Park City, Utah in 1918. He served twice in the U.S. Navy and wrote a column in Aircraft Mechanic about ice skating events. He competed in ski jumping and was well-known in the skiing community.

The Clay Fox digital photograph collection consists of images of him skiing. Clay Fox began skiing in second grade. In 1994 he lost his left leg below the knee in a car accident. After the accident Clay Fox enrolled himself in a disabled ski program and became a ski racer. In 1999 Clay Fox joined the U.S. Ski Team, racing in four events.

The Einar Fredbo skiing scrapbook (1930-1934) consists of a photocopy of the original that was kept by Einar Fredbo and contains clippings regarding skiing activities, particularly ski jumping, in Utah and the western United States. Clippings document the activities of Fredbo, Alf Engen, and other skiers. Many clippings document ski jumping competitions held at Ecker Hill. Einar Fredbo was a ski jumper in Utah and the western United States.
