Biographical Note

Elijah Malin Weiler (1839-1921) was the son of Jacob Malin Weiler and Lillian Susannah Nicholson. He immigrated with his mother to the Salt Lake valley to meet his father who had crossed the plains ahead of the original pioneers. After his military service in the 1865 Blackhawk War and his missionary service as a settler in Muddy, Nevada, Elijah Malin Weiler became a member of the Crismon and Weiler Contractors firm, where he assisted in building many of the railroad lines in Utah.

The Elijah Malin Weiler papers (1839-1921) is a small railroading collection containing about forty pieces of correspondence. Weiler immigrated with his mother to the Salt Lake valley. He served in the 1865 Blackhawk War and was a missionary and settler in Muddy, Nevada. He was a member of the Crismon and Weiler Contractors firm and he assisted in building many of the railroad lines in Utah.
