Scope and Contents
The Dorothy Shepherd Van Stipriaan papers (1876-1984) consist of personal and family materials. Included are handbills, announcements, artwork, flyers, poetry, and Dorothy's unpublished master's thesis. Items dating back to the 1870s for both the Shepherd and Pyper families, as well as Mormon Church material from the Shepherd family, are included.

Biographical Sketch
Dorothy Shepherd Van Stipriaan was born in 1909. She pursued several professional avenues during her lifetime, including serving as head of the library's Fine Arts Department in the 1960s. She received her master's degree in Library Science from Case Western University. She died in 1976.

The Dorothy Shepherd Van Stipriaan papers (1876-1984) consist of personal and family materials. Included are handbills, artwork, announcements, flyers, poetry, religious materials, and Dorothy's unpublished master's thesis. Dorothy Van Stipriaan (1909-1976) was a member of Salt Lake City's prominent Shepherd family. She was appointed head of the library's Fine Arts Department in 1966.
