Biographical Sketch

Alene Olsen (1915-1986) was born in Brigham City, Utah. She received her B.A. in child psychology from the University of Utah prior to becoming a teacher. She married Ross Dalton, started her own nursery school, and collaborated with two friends on "My Picture Book of Songs." Dalton went on to become the "Story Princess" on KSL-TV in Salt Lake City. She appeared as this character on "The Kate Smith Show" and "The Perry Como Show." She also appeared as "Princess Summerfall Winterspring" and "Heididoody" on the "Howdy Doody Show." She authored more than fifty books. Ross Dalton died in 1973 and she married Herbert Baker Chapin in 1979. Alene Dalton Chapin died in June 1986.
