Scope and Contents

The Luther E. Eggersten correspondence (1914-1999) contain letters of Luther E. Eggersten to his sister, Algie Eggersten Ballif, Kimball Young, his son, Luther E. ("Bud") Eggersten, and his parents, Lars E. Eggersten and Annie N. Eggersten. Luther E. Eggersten (1893-1974) was a lawyer and worked at various jobs in Portland, Oregon. Part of the collection deals with Eggerstens overview of the theology of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Eggersten was born into a LDS family, but later left the LDS Church.
