Organizational History

The Murray Women's Civic Guild was organized in 1940. Its constitution states "the object of this club shall be the development of its members in intellectual endeavor, social fellowship and community service." The club was involved in many beautification projects in Murray, as well as tutoring elementary school children. The club also had guest lecturers, hosted socials and organized out-of-town trips for its members.
