Scope and Contents In the early 1950s the University of Utah decided to strengthen its fledgling School of Medicine. Goodman was asked to write several articles promoting the school and its contributions to Salt Lake City and the State of Utah. Some of the articles describe the physical structure of the medical school, medical contributions of students, and various professors involved in research at the school.

Scope and Contents 1951 was the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge in Box Elder County, Utah. It was also the year a monument was dedicated in Promontory, Utah to commemorate the completion of the transcontinental railroad in 1869. Goodman wrote several articles about these celebrations and the histories behind them.
