Abstract The J. D. Williams papers (1936-2007) contain materials dealing mostly with political science. Included are correspondence, diaries, news clippings, notes, writings, class notes, scrapbooks, and various materials concerning public elections, civil rights, state government, and the bicentennial of the constitution. Williams came to the University of Utah as an instructor in 1952 and served as the director of the Hinckley Institute of Politics from 1965 to 1975. He retired from teaching in 1992.
